Global Changemakers

globalGlobal Changemakers is a programme by the British Council that has been supporting a growing network of community activists, volunteers and social entrepreneurs aged 16-19 years from around the world since 2007. The Global Changemakers are recruited through regional and global youth forums, where they are given initial training in workshops.

Many of the people in the network are actively engaged in the fight against climate change, although Global Changemakers also addresses issues such as human rights, HIV/AIDS or poverty relief. Global Changemakers has brought climate witnesses and activists to the annual meetings of the World Economic Forum and the Global Humanitarian Forum, and six of our Changemakers will take part in the WMO’s upcoming WCC-3 World Climate Conference.

You too can become a Global Changemaker: from 1- 21 August we will be accepting applications for the upcoming Fourth Annual Global Youth Summit, taking place in the UK from 15-21 November. Find out more on www.global-changemakers.net!
